This set of six French vintage fish plates and fish platter are the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys fishing or cooking fish dishes. An ideal gift for fish chefs.
The plates are in a square design, softened at the edges. They all have a gold "gilded" edge pattern trim and measure 22.5cms/ 8¾". They each weigh 350gms/ 12¼ozs. There are six different, stunningly vibrant, designs illustrating various fish swimming amongst reeds.
The platter is also in a softened rectangular shape, with the same border design. It measures 35.5cms/14" long x 24.5cms/ 9¾" wide, and weighs 1kgs/ 2.2lbs. It is deep sided too, 3.5cms/ 1¼", so that the fish can be served with sauces and dressings, without risk of spillage. It has the most detailed illustration of a Pike swimming amongst river weed and reeds. The colours are vibrant and dynamic. Most impressive is the way the "water" has been "brushed" across the fish to give the impression of their movement through the river.
They are all in amazing, excellent condition, with no chips, scratches or cracks. All have the "S.F.P, Société Française de Porcelaine" mark on the undersides. They have many years of service yet to offer.
