This is an amazing stack of 9 mixed fish plates, in nine different fish designs, a "ready-to-display" set for your china hutch/vintage dresser. The perfect shabby chic plate collection, they are ideal for decorating kitchen walls or for celebrations/ weddings/ shabby chic dinner parties. This is a "one of a kind" plate collection, sumptuously ornate plates, rare and collectible. They all have tactile, fluted, edges with a delicate "gilt line" edge trims and border patterns. All these plates are French, dating from the 1920's to the 1980's.
The stack is made up of: Seven large dinner plates, measuring between 24.5cms/ 9¾" and 23.5cms/ 9¼" diameter. Two luncheon plates, measuring 21cms/ 8¼" diameter. A variety of marks, Limoges, Lunéville, Digoin, and Société Française.
They are all in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye. They may have the faintest wear to the gilding and motifs, consistent with their age and use, and the beginnings of "hairline crackle" to the glazes, which is to be expected with the age of these plates, and in no way detracts from the beauty or quality of this beautiful plate stack. They have many years of service yet to offer.
