This is a stunning set of five antique French books in faded blue/green tones. They are 'aged to perfection' and will give you an instant 'old library' effect.
They look lovely tied up with twine and displayed on a coffee table, sideboard, mantelpiece, bedside table or dresser. The covers have faded with time to subtle, dusky, soft tones and the pages are yellowed with age, with age spots.
This 'light blue/green' book bundle is made up of French, antiquarian school books, very collectible and increasingly hard to find. They are in genuine vintage condition, as you can see from the photos. They have been held and read by many, many people who have 'thumbed through' them, studied them, ear marked pages, loved, lost and cherished them and they have finally ended up here - looking for a new home and a new adventure. They have also gathered a few pencil marks and names inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.
Most importantly they have that 'old book smell' reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.
The five books are all hardcover editions, distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose.

Cours Elémentaire de Physique, Physiques, Chimiques et Naturelles (P.C.N), Tome II, M.A.Dufour (1928 edition.) A fascinating book packed full of exciting science, covering topics on light, electricity, radiation and electromagnetism to name but a few!
Révolution , Empire, Première Moitie du XIXe Siècle, Classes de Première, A. Malet et J. Isaac (1929 edition.) This amazing book covers the history of France in the first half of the 19th century. It documents, through 171 images and 38 maps, the French revolution through the Napoleonic period, to the middle of the 19th century. It covers art and literature from this period too.
La Géométrie et Ses Applications, René Cluzel et Jean-Pierre Robert (1962 edition.) This book is filled with fabulous old diagrams and illustrations of angles, spheres, pyramids, cones and mathematical equations and calculations.
Textes Choisis pour La Lecture et L'explication, Classes de 3éme- Technique, B. Barthélémy (1953 edition.) A wonderful book featuring selected works by all the famous French 19th and 20th century authors and their work, such as Victor Hugo, Chateaubriand, Lamartine, Alfred de Vigny, Honoré de Balzac, Gustave Flaubert, Emile Zola, and Alfonse Daudet.

Another wonderful book featuring selected works by all the famous French 16th, 17th and 18th century authors and their work, such as Rabelais, Ronsard, Montaigne, Corneille, La Fontaine, Racine, Voltaire and Molière.
