This is a fabulous vintage, French, "Champagne de Castellane" ice bucket /wine cooler from the 1990's.
Now iconic and very collectible these ice buckets were a promotional item, never for sale to the general public, given to restaurants, bars and bistros all over France to promote this brand of French Champagne.
The front and back of this bucket have the famous, and instantly recognizable, "Champagne de Castellane, Epernay" logo. This world class champagne house has been producing Champagne since 1895.
This ice bucket is in excellent condition and, considering its age, there is very little damage to the metal. It has obviously seen some action in French bars and bistros over the years but is still in excellent condition. It has no dents, just some marks and scratches across the surface, consistent with use, and some slight discolouration, from years of holding ice and water. It has many, many years of service still to offer.
It has sturdy handles with "rings", making it easy to carry without needing to touch the cold bucket. The "vintage" appearance simply adds to it's charm and authenticity.
The bucket stands 21cms (8¼") tall and is 21cms (8¼") diameter at the top. It weighs 500gms (1.1 lbs).
