This is a fabulous set of six plates for pâtés/ foie gras. Hors d'oeuvres/entrée/starter plates.
There are three different designs, two of each. The motifs show the pâtés with all the correct accompaniments for each dish. The designs are:
"Foie Gras en Terrine" (Liver Pâté), "Pâté de Campagne" (Country Pâté) and "Galantine de Volailles" (Pressed Poultry Pâté).
The more you look at the motifs, the more you see. The illustrations on the plates show the sliced pâtés sitting on wooden boards or platters, surrounded by garlic, jars of pickles, pots of olives, herbs and pepper, all in a gorgeous muted palette of browns and greens.
These wonderful plates are the ideal way to serve your Foie Gras course at dinner parties. Foie Gras and Pâtés are often served as an entrée/starter on a slice of baguette, accompanied by olives and cornichons, and with a sweet, white wine.
These plates all have the "Tradition, France" porcelain mark on the undersides and are in amazing condition, with no chips or cracks. There is some very slight wear to one or two of the words, barely detectable, and not noticeable at normal viewing distance, this in no way detracts from the beauty or functionality of this collectible plate set.
The plates are 18cms (7") diameter.
Altogether they weigh 1.4kgs (3 lbs.)
