These exquisitely, stylish plates would look wonderful displayed in a hunting lodge/country manor setting.
The plates measure 24cms (9½") diameter, and each weighs 400 gms (14 ozs.) There are four different designs on the eight dinner plates (two each of Pheasant, Partridge, Snipe and Grouse, illustrated in their natural habitats.) The colours and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic. Beautiful Landscapes, in an autumnal palette that is timelessly elegant. The platter measures 38.5cms (15") long x 26cms (10¼") wide and is heavy, weighing 1.1 kgs (2.4 lbs.) It has a larger version of the scene, with a pair of Pheasants, from the dinner plates. This platter would make an ideal table centrepiece for serving a beautifully prepared bird. It would also be a wonderful party or buffet piece, for serving pâtés/ canapés /entrée/ hors d'oeuvre (starter) courses, to add style to your setting.
All in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, they all have the "P.A.R.I.S. 2" porcelain mark on the undersides. There is some microscopic "wear" to a couple of the motifs, and the gilding, barely detectable and not noticeable at normal viewing distance, they in no way detract from the functionality or beauty of this amazing plate set.
