An antique, table top, food chopper from the late 1800s/early 1900s.
This is a rare find, compact and relatively small (it weighs 1.2kgs/ 2.64 lbs.)
It is marked " No.0 Universal Food Chopper," "LF&C, New Britain, Conn, USA", on one side, and "Pat. Oct 12 1897, Apr 18 1899, RE. Sep 6 1899" on the other.
Built to last; it is complete and appears to be in perfect working order. Not only is it super functional for grinding meat, for sausages and meatballs, it is also beautiful to display.
Ideal for modern, Industrial settings it has a strong vice clamp that grips solidly to the edge of any worktop, counter, table or desk.
This particular grinder is in fabulous condition, considering it has clearly not been used for a long time. It has a gorgeous patina, and all the component parts will unscrew for ease of cleaning and storage. All cast iron, apart from the wooden handle.
It is 23cms/9" long (with the handle down) 33cms/13"(with the handle up) x 23cms/9" wide (including the handle.) The funnel is 7cms/2¾" at it's widest.
