The plates measures 23.5cms / 9¼" diameter x 2cms/ ¾" deep. The bowls measure 21cms/ 8¼" diameter x 3.5cms/ 1¼" deep. Together they weigh 3.6kgs/ 9 lbs. They all have the "Limcolor, Terrassson, G. Brachet" mark on the undersides. They have gorgeous illustrations, showing fishermen in different lake and river landscape settings, there are five different designs; a plate and bowl in each of the five images. The colours and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic. Exquisite in their attention to detail, with a muted palette of subtle, autumnal tones, giving them a sophisticated, timeless quality. They are antique white in colour with an ochre and black edge and stunning border motifs, of fishing tackle and equipment.
They are all in remarkable condition for their 70+ year age. There are no chips. They do have some ageing "hairline crackle" to the glazes, which is to be expected with the age of these plates and is desirable for that essential "antique" look and feel, adding to their authenticity and charm.
