A large, heavy, platter for a pheasant or other game birds. Ideal as a table/banquet centrepiece for serving a beautifully prepared pheasant or for game terrines, pâtés and foie gras canapés too. The illustration show a pair of Pheasants in their natural habitat. The colours and details are incredible accurate and realistic.
The platter has a delicate "gilt line" trim and handles, with a delicate border pattern. It is elegant and has a timeless quality.
It measures 40cms/ 15¾" long x 26.5cms/ 10½" wide. It is deep too, at the edges, 4.5cms/ 1¾", so that the meat can be served with sauces and dressings, without risk of spillage. It weighs 1.5kgs/ 3.3 lbs.
In remarkable condition, there is some slight "wear" to the gilding on the handles and some minor surface grazes to the motif, but nothing whatsoever too detract from the beauty or quality of this gorgeous platter. There are no chips or cracks. It has a microscopic flaw on the underside edge, the glaze has been run over the flaw, so it was present at the time of manufacture and is barely, if at all, detectable.
This platter would look wonderful displayed in a hunting lodge / country manor setting.
