This is an antique stoneware bottle with stopper in working condition. Rare and collectible. It has a porcelain stopper, that still works perfectly, forming a tight seal. The metal wire clasp is slightly rusty, and the rubber of the stopper is starting to show signs of degradation, but this simply adds to the charm of this bottle, and in fact gives it an "aged to perfection" feel. It is in great condition, with no cracks. There are a couple of very small edge "nibbles" at the lip and on the stopper, for genuine authenticity (see photos.) Glazed in a neutral oatmeal/taupe colour it is very tactile, with the outside of the bottle having a smooth, glossy feel and a few "speckled" air bubbles formed during the glazing process. Perfect as a single stem vase, we've styled it this way. We've added some natural twine around the neck and centre of the bottle, for styling. If you would like us to include the twine with the bottle, simply send us message with your order, and we'll include it for you. It would look fabulous displayed alongside other stoneware items on a farmhouse kitchen shelf or dresser and would make an interesting gift for anyone who brews their own beer or wine. It could be used for lemonade or as a hot water bottle or vintage thermos flask too!
It stands 30.5cms (12") tall (to the stopper), and weighs approx. 1.4kgs (3lbs)!
