This is a set of eight mismatched blue and white transferware plates and bowls. A one-off curated collection, perfect for displaying on a country cottage dresser or for weddings and vintage tea parties.
Each plate pattern is different, each is equally as lovely. These look absolutely charming when layering on top of each other. You will receive exactly this set of plates. This collection weighs 3.7kgs/ 8.1 lbs altogether.
There is one large, deep bowl, measuring 24.5cms/ 9½" diameter x 4cms/ 1½" deep. It is marked "N.F. Fontebasso Italy" and the design is a "Swiss Landscape." Two large dinner plates, measuring 26cms/ 10¼" diameter, one marked "Cipa, Porcelain, Italy" the other is from a range named "English Style" by "Lunéville Faience", founded in 1732. One large dinner plate, measuring 25cms/ 9¾" diameter by "Villeroy and Boch", from their "Burgenland" range. One large bowl, measuring 23.5cms/ 9¼" diameter x 3.5cms/ 1¼" deep, marked "Porcelaine, Pyroblan, B.P." One medium bowl, measuring 23cms/ 9" diameter x 3.5cms/ 1¼" deep, from the "Romantic" range by "Sarreguemines, France" One salad plate measuring 20cms/ 8" diameter. One tea plate measuring 17.5cms/ 6¾" diameter.
They are all in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. They have some desirable ageing "hairline crackle" to the glazes, which is to be expected with the age of these plates and is desirable for that "antique" look and feel, adding to their authenticity and charm.
